BEMSCA started in 1993 as a luncheon club for the senior members of the Asian, Chinese and West Indian communities. We now run a daycare service twice a week which provides support and friendship for our members to enjoy. Through this service we provide:
• A hot meal for members to enjoy which reflect the ethnic mix of people using the centre.
• Opportunity for friendship and to be in an environment where they can celebrate cultural diversity.
• Access to information and advice on a broad range of subjects which could impact on their quality of life. This includes talks on cooking and healthy living, updates on changes taking place within the local health authority, areas of benefit to users.
• Planned activities at Fairfield House and organised day trips and excursions for shopping and visits to local and national historical sites.
